Hi-8/ Digital8

In the early '90's, Hi-8 replaced VHS as the most popular consumer format. The cassette tapes were smaller and captured a higher quality picture and sound. By the mid '90's Digital8 came out replacing Hi-8. These cassettes did have a major drawback; they could only be played through a camcorder. Having your footage transferred to DVD will make viewing this footage easy and convenient.
