Over time, usage and environmental factors can deteriorate the playback quality of any audio recording. Digitizing your audio is the best way to prevent any further damage. At BadHairCut, we take the time to make sure each audio transfer is of the highest quality. Our audio transfers include:

Cleaning & Restoration

We have noise reduction software, which allows us to "clean up" pops and excess noises that appear on old, damaged recordings.   BadHairCut will carefully go through and eliminate excess noise as best as we can without taking away any sound from the original recording.  It’s important to understand that some recording are so damaged that it’s impossible to eliminate all the noise with out affecting the original recording.  Many customers choose to just leave some recordings “as is”.

When transferring records, we always hand clean the records before we start. To clean 78’s we use only water and
a soft rag to carefully remove any dirt or grime.  When cleaning vinyl records such as 33’s and 45’s, we use a record cleaning solution and a soft rag.  In both cases, we always protect the label from any water damage.
